So, i'm assuming he is controlled remotely? There's no way he is autonomous. And the range of motion is unbelievable. Not to mention how fluid the movement is. I guess I just find it hard to believe that something that is used for entertainment purposes APPEARS to be more advanced than the stuff coming out of all of these funded projects that are actually trying to advance the field of robotics.

Its possible that there is a guy inside it... there's one video where you get a good close up of its chest and there's a one way window looking panel...

a professor of robotics did a presentation at work, and showed some very impressive systems for robots guiding themselves in unknown territory. they used a sort of scanning laser to build a 3d image of their immediate area that they were able to refresh more than 10x /second. using this the robots were able to guide themselves through the world without bumping into things. it's possible some similar technology is being used here, but since the robot seems to be primarily for entertainment, it would seem more likely that a simpler system would be guiding it
