I'm looking to find a good joystick to use with MW... any ideas... I have an old logetech, that I could use... but don't... and I discovered my x-box 360 game pad works well, save for not allowing for torso twisting.. @_@; so, I need to find a decent... but cheep, joystick that will work well with Mech4.
Any suggestions?

Yea, the Logitech works pretty well and is what I use....BUT....when all is said and done, its pretty cheap and I am already on my second one within a 1.5 year period. Its kind of a "you get what you pay for" situation.
They simply don't make them as good as the classic MS Precision Sidewinder Pro. Ah, the good 'ole days....

MS Precision Sidewinder Pro
^ had one of those. served faithfully for a few years. eventually lost functionality in the most-used buttons
Logitech Extreme 3D Pro
^ my current, had for ~3 years, somewhat similar use. i've had to grapple with dead zone calibration for years now, but all the buttons & such still work. i remember others telling me before about reliability issues before i bought, but my experience has not been that bad

^Logitech exteme 3D pro
Definitely the most bang for the buck, head buttons on the stick work well with the game and such. When I actually used to use a joystick that's what I had, now I'm a cheap mouse + keyboard noob since I'm too lazy to get a new JS. As for reliability, its a toss-up. Any joystick you can easily purchase is mass-produced, so quality is a factor for any model. Hopefully you get lucky and find a well-made one.
At any rate, mechwarrior is definitely supposed to be a joystick game, I wouldn't recommend the mouse and keyboard approach unless you have problems with breaking sticks or not having enough money to buy one.
Also, Welcome to the clan =)
Now to go find the teamspeak information... stupid virus.

Yeah, I think I have a 3d pro somewhere around here... It's a great JS, but I like mouse and keyboard more now

yea the 3d pro is a good choice but the360 contoller seems a little bit simpler and plus if you change the controls its like using a joystick
RB torso twist right LB torso twist left press down on left control stick for jump jets right contorl stick to turn RT to accelerate LT to deaccelerate back to flush coolant start to override shut down up on Dpad to shut down down on Dpad to turn on mech left and right on Dpad to look left or right and press down right control stick to target an enemy
hope that helps yukikonoko
