Hello. Hello to my former lancemates. Hello my Khan Calico Jack. Hello Der Muhalla. Hello DuncaN. Hello all fellow ex[SP] members. Hello all of my fellow Dominionites.
It has been a long time coming. A long time. I am not exactly sure how or why or what the circumstances were that I went inactive from the game and the clan that I loved. I was an aspiring ice hockey goaltender and now a mechanical engineering major who longs for the days past of dominating PR1 and the likes of Yameon and other formidable adversaries. I smile just thinking about it even now. I am saddened however. I am saddened by the evolution of the franchise and how it has affected our clan. Yes we have all grown up. I know I am not the 12 year old who took the bold step of hitting the multiplayer button for the first time anymore. You can say that it was time for everyone to go their seperate ways, but I say it was a bit premature. Our beloved franchise has been the victim of corporate greed and bureaucratic hubabaloo and jibereejew instead of rotary auto cannons and pulse boats on a UNAH server.
I looked forward to every night spent in friendly competition on Solaris battles as a member of [SP], some of which were very competitive and heated, yet was mindful that once a week my friendly competitors would be my lance mate come the weekend when we took on the latest adversary in the NBT bracket.
Those who play this game are a special breed. The masses do not understand. They think we are just a bad rip off of Gundam. I know I see it as the other way around .Beside the point! This game was our childhood growing up or a very special hobby in the case of Eddie and those like him. I am sure I am not the only one who has looked back on those glory days when the clan and inner sphere mech packs were a big deal, or the days of anxiously awaiting the next mekpak.
I titled this post "I am home". I just want you all to know that I never left. You guys have been in my thoughts through my years of absence and to me I feel like I never left. I found my old signature picture that I made back during my days of Shadow Phoenix and I look at my lance logo and I am still proud to be a part of it.
I am so happy that this forum is still alive. I still remember my last online match ever. It was a 1v1 with DuncaN on a factory Solaris map with all the buildings in the middle on a plateau surrounded by lava. I remember us saying goodbye signing off to go to bed that night. I wish that was not the final goodbye. I hope we all take to the battlefield, together, once again soon.
I dont know who is in charge, but I hope they can restore my status to active mechwarrior.
I am truly home.
