Well, i should also post this in the notices thread but i think this will do. Looks like i'm on the disabled list until further notice. Was running a virus scan on my puter today, which was making my computer run slow. Well, I had Firefox open as well as a chat window for msn msgr and also running iTunes. Well, my computer completely locked up. So bad that ctrl alt del would not work and nor would it shut down properly. So, i had to cut the power via the surge protector. NOW....it wont turn back on. This has happened once before about 2 weeks ago and for some reason it came back on while I was on the phone with Aries. NOW, nothing happens. Only sign of life is a light on the power button that flickers a little. Monitor is fine, only the tower. Ideas? Aries seemed to think it was a power source problem. For the moment, I was lucky enough to find someone with an unprotected wireless connection and I am using my laptop. I'll try to keep you guys updated....

I agree with Aries, sounds like a PS problem. Do you normally run that many programs at once?

Unless you really have a powerhouse computer, it's not a good idea to run anything in addition to a virus scan. They're pretty system intensive. Does your laptop have an ethernet port? If so, you could simply take the network cable from your desktop and plug it into your laptop. Hopefully you'll get things sorted out soon. If you need a new power supply, you can order online from sites like Newegg or Tiger Direct.
