So I've followed the directions at portfoward.com 3 times now, and it never works. I can get the static IP to work just fine, but MW will not connect. Does anyone know what else might be stopping me from playing?

Are you sure you're forwarding the ports to the right address?
You can always try the DMZ.

It's disabled now, so should i enable it? One thing i was wondering about is what the 'application' box should be. The guide said 'Mech4M1', 'Mech4M2', and 'Mech4M3'. But I've seen other people's and they have just 1, 2, and 3.

If port forwarding isn't working for you, try enabling the DMZ.
The "application" box (in all the routers I've seen, anyway) is just a description so you know what each set of forwarded ports is for. It's just a note to help you remember - it does not effect anything.

Just put your computer's local IP in for the DMZ host address. It should be the same IP that you were trying to forward the ports to.

If you're on the DMZ and still can't join, then your issue may be a little more difficult. Try disabling UPnP in your router. Mercs doesn't like it.
Has your ISP changed recently?
Any new hardware/software?
Have you tried with all software firewalls/security programs totally disabled?
Also, make sure that you're trying multiple servers, and not the same one over and over.

I disabled all of my anti-virus and firewalls, UPnP and still cant connect. I have not changed my ISP or any hardware (expect for a case fan) recently. And if I disconnect the router, I can connect. But everyone else in the house loses wireless So it looks like its the routers fault

If you can connect without the router, then it's definitely something with the router. It's not ports though, because you've tried it with the DMZ and it still doesn't work. At this point, I'd suggest either more research or trial and error.
If it helps at all, I was having funky issues with my router a while ago, and it worked fine after rebooting it.
